Tucson residents Gabrielle Giffords and retired Col. Bill Badger appear in a new music video by Gospel singer Mandisa that celebrates people who overcome health obstacles.

The song is called "Overcomer." It premiered on Good Morning America last week.

The video features footage of Good Morning America host Robin Roberts in the hospital as she battles myelodysplastic syndrome — an illness that required her to undergo a bone marrow transplant last year.

Others in the video include Olympic gold medal figure skater Scott Hamilton, who struggled with health issues as a child and underwent surgery in recent years for a benign brain tumor.

Parts of the video include recordings of former congresswoman Giffords' recovery after she was shot through the brain on Jan. 8, 2011, plus more recent footage in and around Tucson. In one scene, she appears with Badger inside a local watering hole — The Shanty.

Badger is credited with preventing more people from getting killed or injured in the 2011 Tucson mass shooting because he tackled and pushed gunman Jared Lee Loughner to the ground. Badger has had his own health struggles, having suffered a stroke since the shooting.
