After 44 years of offering mailing services from a building off 13th Avenue, west of North Oracle Road, the Kino Post Office has packed up and moved about three miles north.

Residents with Post Office Boxes at the former facility at 2051 N. 13th Ave., can now pick up their mail at the new location at 3655 N. Oracle Road, Ste. 101, north of Prince Road.

The former facility used to house letter carriers that served the 85705 zip code, but those employees were relocated about two years ago, said Rob Soler spokesman for the United States Postal Service.

Two employees were working in the building that used to house about 75, he said.

Both employees have been moved to the new location and the old building was sold to Loomis, Soler said.

A little more than half of the new facility's 1,070 Post Office Boxes are occupied and the rest are available for rent, he said.

A grand opening for the new site is in the works.
