Tucson tied a record high Monday and above normal temperatures are expected to continue at least for the next couple of days.

The National Weather Service said Tucson's high of 88 degrees, tied the record, which was last set in 1999.

More warm weather is expected Tuesday with a high of 88 expected and 86 forecast for Wednesday. A system moving north of the area will drop temperatures slightly on Friday and the weekend, with highs in the low 80s expected. The record high for Tuesday is 90, set in 1999.

The local high of 89 degrees on Sunday made Tucson the nation's hot spot, according to the NWS.
