A 19-year-old UA student who crashed on his motorcycle on Mount Lemmon and died Friday was identified as Spencer Repp, an official said.

Repp, of New York, was airlifted to University of Arizona Medical Center after the 5:20 p.m. crash on General Hitchcock Highway at milepost 12, said Deputy Tom Peine, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokesman, on Sunday.

Repp had gone over the guard rail and sustained serious injuries, Peine said.

Investigators found out that speed was a factor in the crash. Repp lost control of the motorcycle as he traveled south on the highway.
