Several local organizations are hosting events this weekend in honor of Veterans Day, which is on Sunday. Here's a list of several of them.

FRIDAY

• Veterans Benefit Dinner to raise money for hospitalized veterans at the VA Medical Center; 6 p.m. at St. Joseph Church-Healy Hall, 215 S. Craycroft Road. Tickets will be available at the door. They're $20 for adults, $8 for 13- to 18-year-olds and free for those 12 and younger. 885-6089.

SATURDAY

• Sixth annual Veterans Day Celebration hosted by the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System. For all veterans and their families, featuring family activities and live entertainment; 1-5 p.m. at the VA Medical Center, 3601 S. Sixth Ave. Free. 792-1450, ext. 6261.

• Daily use fees, such as parking fees, are waived through Monday for Coro-nado National Forest visitors. 749-8700.

SUNDAY

• 390th Memorial Museum open house for veterans and their family members; 9-11 a.m. at the Pima Air & Space Museum, 6000 E. Valencia Road. Free. RSVPs are required; call 574-0287.

• Arizona Symphonic Winds Veterans Day Salute concert. 1 p.m. at Catalina Foothills High School, 4300 E. Sunrise Drive. Free; donations are accepted. 721-2068.

• Military Appreciation Day; 10 a.m.-noon at the Prince Chapel AME Church, 602 S. Stone Ave. Free. 624-2871.

• Veterans Day Open House, featuring food, games and entertainment by "Johnnie and the Rumblers"; 2-7 p.m. at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4903, 1150 N. Beverly Ave. Free. 881-0184.

MONDAY

• Tucson Veterans Day Parade, downtown. The parade will stage on West Alameda Street between Granada Avenue and Manning House Way beginning at 8 a.m. The parade starts at 10 a.m. It will proceed east on Alameda, turn north on Church Avenue then west on Sixth Street, then south on Granda before ending at Franklin Street.

• Concert by Jewish rocker Rick Recht, presented by Congregation Anshei Israel, Congregation Or Chadash and Handmaker Jewish Services for the Aging; 6:30 p.m. at Congregation Anshei Israel, 5550 E. Fifth St. Tickets, available at the door, are $18 for adults and $12 for seniors and children. VIP tickets, which include premium seating and a post-show dessert reception, are $36 in advance and at the door. 322-7006 or lriegel@handmaker.org
