KEARNY - Residents of a trailer park have been evacuated as firefighters battle a wildfire in the small town of Kearny, about 80 miles north of Tucson.

Arizona State Forestry officials say the Shipman Fire was reported about 5 p.m. Monday, and it's unclear how it started. The wildfire was burning through salt cedar trees along a riverbed and reportedly grew to about 75 acres within an hour. Stevens Trailer Park was evacuated as a precaution. Pinal County sheriff's officials were contacting the Red Cross and Kearny High School to open up for temporary evacuations.

The wildfire closed five miles of Arizona 177 near Kearny, state officials said.
