A wildfire is burning southwest of Tucson near Baboquivari Peak.

The Thomas Fire began in the Baboquivari Mountains on Tuesday about 27 miles southeast of Sells and has burned about 60 acres. It is about 50 percent contained.

The fire is burning in grass and brush in steep terrain. Ground crews, engines and some aricraft are assigned to the blaze. One structure is in the area of the fire.
