A fundraiser for the family of a firefighter who died in in the Yarnell Fire near Prescott is set for Friday at Culver's restaurant on the northwest side.

Roxanne Warneke buried her husband, William "Billy" Warneke, 25, on July 10 at the Marana Cemetery.

Billy Warneke was one of 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots who died June 30 while battling the Yarnell Hill Fire near Prescott.

Roxanne is expecting her and Billy's first child in December.

Northwest Firefighters Charities will host the event at the restaurant, 6905 N. Thornydale Road, from 5 to 8 p.m., said Capt. Adam Goldberg, a Northwest Fire District spokesman.

Donations will be collected in a large boot and helmet.

Firefighters will also sell T-shirts for $20, and Culver's will donate 20 percent of total sales on Friday to the fundraiser, Goldberg said.

Local fire departments and districts were invited to attend.

Firefighters are hoping to raise $10,000 at the event, said Goldberg.
