Safford-area wildfire is totally contained
A wildfire that burned nearly 19,000 acres in the Coronado National Forest near Safford in Southeastern Arizona now is 100 percent contained.
The lightning-caused Grapevine Fire began Thursday and burned in grass and brush.
Late Tuesday afternoon, a half-inch to three-quarters of an inch of rain fell on the fire area, helping crews contain the blaze, the U.S. Forest Service said.

Hearing is July 18 on sales-tax petitions
A judge has scheduled a July 18 hearing on a lawsuit challenging a state official's decision to keep a proposed sales tax increase off Arizona's November ballot.
Supporters of the initiative are trying to overturn Secretary of State Ken Bennett's decision. He said a paperwork flaw meant that the campaign didn't submit enough valid signatures.
The supporters contend the measure should go on the ballot because an electronic version had the correct text, although a printed version omitted some material. The campaign would increase the state sales tax by one cent in 2013 when a temporary sales tax increase expires.
The case is before Judge Robert Oberbillig of Maricopa County Superior Court.
