Wind gusts of 45 mph have been recorded in Tucson as a storm system moves through the area.
The National Weather Service has issued high wind and blowing dust advisories for the Tucson area and Cochise County. The wind will be strong enough today to damage roofs and topple trees.
Especially prone to to dangerous dust storms is Interstate 10 between Casa Grande and Phoenix, and between Tucson and the New Mexico state line. Motorists are cautioned to slow down on the interstate.
Wind gusts could be as high as 60 mph this afternoon and into the early evening.

The storm system will drop temperatures today and Tuesday and bring a slight chance of rain. Higher elevations could see some snow. Highs Tuesday in Tucson will be in the mid- to upper 60s.
