A woman crossing a street near downtown Tucson was struck by a car and killed Sunday night.
The woman was crossing West 22nd Street near Osborne Avenue, near Interstate 10, around 9:30 p.m. when she was hit by a Chevrolet Impala traveling eastbound in the curb lane, Sgt. Maria Hawke, a Tucson police spokeswoman, said in a news release.
The woman was not in a crosswalk, the release said.
The woman was taken to the hospital where she later died. Her name wasn’t yet released.
Police do not believe the driver was speeding or that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
