Multiple crashes have occurred on Interstate 10 near Picacho Monday afternoon, according to state officials.

A multiple vehicle crash occurred on I-10 westbound at milepost 213 about 2 p.m., said Officer Raul Molina, a state Department of Public Safety spokesman.

The crash involved two semi-trucks and two other vehicles, Molina said.

One semi that was hauling produce rolled and is partially blocking the left eastbound lane on I-10, and the westbound left lane is closed to motorists, said Molina.

Four people were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The collisions are related to blowing dust, Molina said.

"Motorists along I-10 between Phoenix and Tucson have been dealing with dusty conditions and wind gusts up to 60 mph," states an Arizona Department of Transportation news release.

The National Weather Service has issued a blowing dust advisory and high wind warning for portions of Southern Arizona until 8 p.m., states the release.

ADOT urges motorists to pull aside safely off the roadway, and avoid driving into or through a dust storm.
