Tucson's local theater continues to impress. Every season, numerous small companies are staging both classic and new works that are bold, challenging, innovative and relevant to our time and place. Theater lovers and newcomers, put Speak the Speech Theatre Company on your radar. The Community Playhouse building at 1881 N. Oracle Road may be a diamond in the rough, but STS' current production of David Mamet's “American Buffalo” is a shining gem. The three actors do wonderful justice to the tight, street-smart dialogue for which Mamet (Glengarry Glenn Ross) is famous. Bravo, STS, and thank you for bringing Mamet-speak to Tucson. Best wishes for sell-out performances on your last weekend, Nov 3-6: this Buffalo nickel is priceless.
