It is now easier to submit a letter to the editor or guest opinion to the Editorial Department at the Arizona Daily Star. You can simply click on the online form and fill it out with your opinion. This is now the only way we will accept letters and guest opinions.

The advantage is that the form asks all the right questions so you won't forget to give us your phone number — which we won't publish — or some other pertinent information. The form is right there on the Opinion page so you can fire off that letter immediately after reading the editorial or Fitz cartoon that raised your blood pressure.

Tell us why we're wrong or why we're right. We want to know.

Find the form on the Opinion page (scroll down to the "How-to" section), the Mailbag page or by typing azstarnet.com/letters in your browser. To submit a guest opinion, you'll find links on the same pages or type azstarnet.com/guestopinions in your browser.

Here are the rules:

The Arizona Daily Star welcomes original letters and guest opinions with ideas, viewpoints, criticism and news analysis that encourage discussion on issues that have an impact on the community. When writing about political issues, authors should fully disclose their relationship with an issue, campaign or candidate. Facts must be annotated. Letters containing information that cannot be easily verified, libelous statements or name calling will be rejected.

Any author may have a letter or guest opinion every 30 days. Submissions may be edited for clarity or length. All submissions become the property of the Arizona Daily Star. Only original material sent exclusively to the Arizona Daily Star will be considered for publishing. Letters to the Editor should be no more than 150 words. Guest opinions can be up to 600 words and should have a head-and-shoulders photograph.
