We want to hear your stories of obstacles or pathways to efficiently doing business in Tucson.

Major issues like the quality of education and the condition of our roads, which were noted in a recent Tucson Metro Chamber survey, are not something a single elected official or government employee can fix.

However, we believe problematic rules and regulations can be addressed to move our community away from the “we’re not business friendly” perception many respondents noted in the chamber’s survey.

Please give a specific example of a government practice you’ve encountered in Southern Arizona that caused you to spend unnecessary time or money. Then, tell us what you think needs to be done to fix it.

On the other hand, if you’ve had a good experience, describe it. Include a specific person if you’d like to give him or her credit. If something has improved over the years, let us know that, too.

We’ll compile the responses and explore the issues raised on future editorial pages.
