After you buy this week's Powerball ticket, you might want to visit Tucson Medical Center's website for a chance to win a new home or car, a six-night vacation to Alberta's Banff and Lake Louise, and a variety of other prizes.

TMC kicked off its first-ever Mega Raffle today.

The hospital said raffle participants have a 1-in-20 chance of winning prizes, including a luxury home package, a variety of new cars, vacations, and an array of the latest in electronics, jewelry and home accessories.

Proceeds from the raffle will be used to expand health-care programs and services at the hospital.

One drawing will be held May 8 and the final drawing will be on May 29.

Each of the 2,800 prizes was hand-selected by Mega Raffle coordinator and spokeswoman Kathy Rice, who purchased as many of the prizes locally as possible.

"I look for prizes with a real 'wow factor' - things people dream about," Rice said in a news release. "The real goal here is to create a winning proposition for all involved - TMC, its patients and the community."

Tickets are $100 each with a limited number of three-ticket packages available for $250. To buy tickets, go online to or call 1-800-395-8805.

People who buy their tickets before May 1 are eligible to win a 2013 Audi A5 and $14,000. The second early-bird prize is the six-night Canadian vacation to Banff and Lake Louise, plus a 2013 Honda Accord and $9,000.

The third early-bird prize is the winner's choice to a championship sports event in the U.S., plus $4,000.

Those who beat the May 1 deadline will also have their tickets re-entered for the May 29 drawing.

The winner of the final drawing can win an A.F. Sterling Home equipped with a new Mercedes-Benz and $100,000 with a total value of $625,000 (winner may also opt to take cash instead of home).

May 22 is the last day to buy raffle tickets.
