An associate Arizona State University professor is in custody for allegedly exposed himself to a Tempe police officer in a park bathroom.

Tempe police say 53-year-old Michael Cenerini entered a bathroom Wednesday afternoon in Papago Park and allegedly exposed himself several times to a non-uniformed officer.

The policeman reported the incident to other officers and Cenerini was later pulled over and arrested.

He's been booked into jail on suspicion of public sexual indecency, which carries a penalty of up to six months in jail.

Police didn't immediately know Friday if Cenerini has a lawyer yet and university officials didn't immediately return calls seeking comment on the arrest.

The Arizona Republic reports that the ASU website lists Cenerini as a faculty associate.
