A 21-year-old Arizona State University faces charges accusing him of causing serious burns to two young women attending a weekend house party in Tempe.

Andrew Kent was arrested on two counts each of aggravated assault and endangerment.

Police say an 18-year-old student and a 17-year-old California girl visiting ASU received very serious burns when a liquor bottle exploded after being thrown into a bonfire Saturday.

According to police, the 17-year-old rolled on the ground to put out the flames as others at the party helped her and the 18-year-old.

The 18-year-old left the party and went to get initial treatment from her firefighter father.

Police say students who didn’t want to get in trouble escorted the 17-year-old girl out of the party and down the street to await paramedics.
