PHOENIX — Police say a 17-year-old girl drowned at a pool party at a home in Phoenix.

Officer James Holmes says the teen and her 13-year-old brother were attending a party near 43rd and Missouri avenues Saturday when authorities were called around 10:30 p.m.

Holmes says a partygoer felt the girl's body at the bottom of the pool and she was pulled from the deep end.

Firefighters administered CPR but the teen died at a hospital.

The girl's brother told investigators he last saw her in the pool's shallow end.

The boy says 15 minutes passed before the other partygoer discovered the girl.

He says he didn't know if his sister knew how to swim.

Police are not releasing the girl's name pending notification of next of kin.
