The new Prince Road bridge over Interstate 10 will finally re-open to traffic tomorrow morning.

Other improvements to the long-closed interchange, however, will remain closed until repaving is complete in May.

The new overpass is an integral part of a $76.4 million widening project of I-10 between Ruthrauff and Prince roads, with the new project routing traffic over as many as 60 trains that pass daily through Tucson.

The Prince Road interchange has been closed since fall 2011.

While the new Prince Road interchange is now open, there is additional work to be done along I-10 before the project will be fully open to the public.

The eastbound I-10 entrance ramp at Prince Road will remain closed for another month and one lane in each direction will remain closed until paving operations are complete in May.

Currently, there are three lanes open in each direction of Interstate 10 between Prince and Ruthrauff roads.
