Travel could be hazardous across Arizona today, with high winds and blowing dust from Interstate-40 in Northern Arizona to Interstate-10 in the central and south portions, according to the National Weather Service.

A wind advisory has been issued for 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today. Dust storms could develop on I-10, along the Tucson/Phoenix corridor and eastward along I-10 through Cochise County.

The Weather Service Tucson office has also issued a “red flag warning” for all of Southeastern Arizona, including the Tucson region.

High winds, low humidity and above normal temperatures will create “critical fire weather conditions,” according to the Weather Service.

Windy conditions continue Tuesday.

The Arizona Department of Transportation lists current road conditions and closures at its az511.gov site. You can also dial 511 from your phone anywhere in Arizona to receive an update.
