Storms dropping 1 inch to i.5 inches of rain in less than an hour have triggered flood warnings in South Tucson, the San Xavier District of the Tohono O'odham Nation, Rita Ranch and Corona de Tucson.

Previously, the Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning in the Tucson metropolitan area as storms moved off the Santa Catalina and Rincon Mountains.

The severe thunderstorm warning has expired but storms continue to produce heavy rainfall. The flash flood warning is in effect until 5:15 p.m.
