A California native, he graduated from Northwestern University, has an MBA from Thunderbird and previously worked at the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He has also regularly covered several levels of baseball, boxing, rodeo and even the Canadian Football League.

Before that, he spent seven seasons covering the Arizona Wildcats football team and two years as the Star’s high school sports coordinator. He has also worked at the North County Times in California and was a Pulliam Fellow at The Arizona Republic. Ryan spends his free time reading, hanging out with his family and searching for the perfect Sonoran hot dog.
About Jon: If there's a joke to be written, a sentence to be twisted or a pun to be penned, Gold is there with his keyboard and goofy perspective. He has dabbled in comedy writing and performing and still considers high school football his glory years. Coming to Tucson from Los Angeles he graduated from San Diego State University, and worked at CBS Sports, the Los Angeles Daily News, the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Casper Star-Tribune.
About Daniel: A Tucson native and UA graduate, Gaona got his start at the Arizona Daily Star as a freelancer covering high school football in 2009 and has now been the high school sports coordinator for close to a year. When Gaona isn't on the job or in the game, he's either enduring another Yankees' postseason collapse, trying to come up with unique burger recipes or grilling the best steak in town.
About Zack: Zack a UA grad, and has been writing for Star sports full-time since he graduated in May. He's originally from Cherry Hill, N.J., but don't be confused if he tells you he's a Philly guy. Zack previously was a sports editor at the student-run Arizona Daily Wildcat, a stringer with the Associated Press and an intern at the Courier-Post in New Jersey.
