Re: the Aug. 6 article "Locals join wave of suits that say Roundup was cause of cancers."
Thanks so much for the article by Carol Ann Alaimo in Sunday's paper, dealing with local lawsuits against Monsanto. A big pat-on-the-back to Carol Ann and to the Star. Monsanto has created a wretched reputation for itself and rightly so, I suspect. A question I would like to see explored: Why has there been thunderous silence from the scientific community at the U of A? Nary a negative word about Monsanto's threat to the Southern Arizona community nor any words or cautionary remarks about deadly products being sprayed and scattered. Why the silence? Who is trying to stay hidden and what is the payoff? All the wonderful stuff the U of A is constantly touting and headlining, but it seems to be a stealth when it comes to health where Monsanto is concerned.
