Re: the Sept. 21 article "Governor: Repeal is still better than ACA."

In supporting Graham-Cassidy and saying that repeal is better than the Affordable Care Act, Gov. Doug Ducey is acting irresponsibly — acting without any knowledge of a CBO score and the details of how this bill will affect Arizonans. Like other repeal bills that came out of Congress this year, they were all written in secrecy.

Yes, Democrats pushed through the ACA, but at least they had the courage to hold dozens of public hearings before four Senate committees. Sen. John McCain is correct — the Senate must follow regular order — something that Graham-Cassidy won’t see. It’s totally about a political victory and not creating a great health-care system. Note that Sen. Mitch McConnell just shut down Sen. Lamar Alexander and Sen. Patty Murray’s bipartisan committee to work on health-care solutions. How can our Arizona senators vote for Graham-Cassidy without a CBO score and until the details see the light of day?
