Dear Gov. Ducey,

I hope Arizonans can count on your support to defeat a series of water bills (SB 1507 – 1516) that were introduced in Arizona’s Senate and their House companion bills. As Audubon Arizona reports "60% of Arizona’s wildlife depends on riverside habitat and 45% of North America’s 900 bird species can be found on the San Pedro River alone. To protect these resources, we need policy that brings us closer to water reliability and sustainability."

In addition, recently reported by AZPM: a poll conducted at the beginning of the year shows that 91 percent of Arizonans believe that the outdoor recreation economy is vital for the state's economic growth.

"They see more sustainable sources of income that is hunters, fishers, bird watchers, campers and hikers," said Jonah Seifer, specialist for the Conservation in the West Poll. "They see that as a more sustainable source of revenue into the future as opposed to the extractive industries."
