Re: the Dec. 30 column "Why do so many Republicans hate college?"
To answer columnist Catherine Rampell, I feel sorrow for the passing of our great educational institutions, not hate. Our colleges used to be places where one could find discourse. Now there is none. Right-leaning speakers are harassed, threatened and shut down.
When one does speak, students are "triggered" and must find "safe places" filled with cocoa, Play-Doh and puppies. All with the fawning professor corps helping to soothe them. This is why Republicans are at odds with colleges. Rampell might want to ask, why are Democrats OK with our bastions of higher learning turning out mindless, uneducated louts who will be unable to find a safe spot or a job?
