To put a play on words of the 1948 song by Donald Gardner: "All I want for Christmas is an Arizona Governor and lawmakers that will fully fund and support public education and its amazing teachers." Being a teacher for more than 40 years, I have personally experienced Arizona's leadership continuously cutting funding for public education. We teachers are left with gigantic class sizes, students not getting the help they need, buying our own classroom supplies, and making a salary that is close to poverty levels.

After all this, we're told we need to work harder and that our schools are failing. Arizona public school teachers are the hardest working people on this Earth! Many of them have to work second jobs just to make ends meet. Our young, talented teachers have to move to another state or change careers altogether. So please consider my wish and help us vote in lawmakers that truly value education and our magnificent teachers!
