Fun Chili Cook-Off — Jonathan’s Cork, 6320 E. Tanque Verde Road. The annual fundraiser helps send local boys and girls to summer camp through the Arizona Daily Star’s Sportsmen’s Fund Send a Kid to Camp program. Local restaurants will donate their best chili for the public to sample and judge from noon to 2 p.m. or until the last spoonful is consumed. $10. Noon-2 p.m. Oct. 12. 296-1631.

Paint Out in the Park — Roy P. Drachman-Agua Caliente Park, 12325 E. Roger Road. Tucson Plein Air Painters Society Signature Artist Jack Wahl teaches techniques for painting landscape scenes in the open air. Experienced and novice artists are invited to “paint out” on their own or participate in a plein air painting demonstration and critique session.
