NEW YORK - With its first smartphone designed completely in-house, Google is demonstrating one of the benefits of moving production from Asia to the U.S.: It's letting buyers customize phones to give them their own style.
Nokia and Motorola, which a few years ago were the No. 1 and No. 2 phone makers, revealed new phones at back-to-back press events Wednesday in New York. They appeared hurrying to show them off before Apple makes its iPhone announcement next week.
