The Mountain View Black Officers' Club, built in 1942, has fallen into disrepair over the years, and the Army is considering tearing it down. It's the nation's only building constructed specifically as a club for black officers.
Here's the club in a photo taken the year it was built - 1942. Fort Huachuca is southeast of Tucson in Cochise County.
The fate of a Fort Huachuca building that preservationists say is significant to honoring the contributions of African-American military personnel during World War II is still uncertain despite attempts to preserve it and add it to the National Register of Historic Places.
