The lone adult bighorn ram was photographed in June in the Catalina Mountains. The ram appears to be getting ready to breed with the remaining ewes, an encouraging sign for the herd, officials say. At least five lambs have been born in the Catalinas since the relocation last fall.

2 bighorn lambs spotted in Tucson's Santa Catalina Mountains

This is one of the two lambs born to bighorn sheep reintroduced recently to the Santa Catalina Mountains. They were sighted last week in the Pusch Ridge Wilderness. The apparently healthy lambs were seen from a distance by an Arizona Game and Fish Department biologist.
