Capt. Wm. McDermott is now out soliciting subscriptions for the bandstand, which is to be built in Washington Park, and for which the plans are completed. The stand will cost in the neighborhood of $2,500 and will be not only a credit to the city, but will afford a comfortable and pleasing place for band concerts to be given afternoons and evenings. Capt. McDermott stated yesterday that he had secured subscriptions to the amount of $1,200. Bids for the building of the bandstand have been asked for, and there is much interest shown in the latest public movement for the good of the city.
