PHILADELPHIA - Michael Vick took a significant pay cut to stay with the Eagles and compete for a starting job against ex-UA Wildcats quarterback Nick Foles.

Vick, 32, agreed Monday to a restructured three-year contract with Philadelphia, just two seasons after signing a $100 million extension that included $35.5 million in guaranteed money. The new deal, however, is for one year. He was slated to earn $16 million next season, but the new deal may pay him $10 million if he reaches incentives. He lost his starting job to the rookie Foles last season, but new coach Chip Kelly said he'll give Vick a chance to win it back.

"My heart is in Philly and this community is important to me," Vick tweeted.
