The Arizona Wildcats baseball team came up short Friday night, leaving the bases loaded in the ninth of a 4-3 loss to host Stanford.

The UA (24-12, 8-7 Pac-12) watched the Cardinal (21-11, 8-5) pull even with three runs in the fifth and then take the lead for good with a single run in the sixth.

Cody Ramer was hit by a pitch to open the Arizona ninth. After Scott Kingery walked on four pitches, Joseph Maggi's sacrifice bunt moved the runners up. Johnny Field was then walked intentionally to load the bases.

Trent Gilbert ripped a ball that third baseman Alex Blandino made a diving stop on and threw home for the second out. Brandon Dixon then grounded out on a comebacker to end the game.
