The College World Series champion Arizona Wildcats will play the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim's instructional league team Oct. 4 in Tempe. The game,  which will be held at Diablo Stadium, is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start. Admission is free.

Arizona will bring its full roster to the game. The Angels will counter with a team of prospects that could include former South Carolina pitcher Michael Roth. Roth started in the Wildcats' CWS national title clincher.

The exhibition game was arranged by Angels owner Arte Moreno, a UA grad, and coach Andy Lopez. Lopez will hold his annual baseball camp at Tempe Diablo Stadium on Oct. 6-7. Age groups for the camps are 4th-7th grade and 8th-10th grade.

“This will be a great opportunity for some of younger guys to gain experience early in the fall against some very talented players,” Lopez said in a news release. “It’s a unique situation to have an opportunity like this before we even practice as a team, but it will be a valuable to our players and something they can enjoy. We hope our fans, especially those in the Phoenix area, can come out and enjoy this experience with us.”

Arizona will open its 2013 season Feb. 15 against Coppin State.
