The Arizona Wildcats baseball team ended an eight-game losing streak with an 11-2 victory over Oregon State at Hi Corbett Field on Saturday.
UA starter Cody Hamlin (4-2) gave up 12 hits but allowed the Beavers (20-6, 5-3 Pac-12) to plate just two runners over 8º innings. The sophomore struck out a career-high eight and did not allow a walk.
The Wildcats (12-17, 2-6) pounded out 17 hits against seven Oregon State pitchers, with Kevin Newman, Trent Gilbert and Zach Gibbons getting three hits apiece.
Gilbert drove in three runs, including the first two runs of the game with a double in the first inning.
