James Farris pitched a five-hit complete game Saturday night to lead the host Arizona Wildcats to a 6-0 victory over Alcorn State in the opener of a three-game series at Hi Corbett Field.

Farris, a senior right-hander, allowed one walk and struck out 10 in improving his record to 2-0. The Wildcats are 4-2, while Alcorn fell to 0-6.

The Wildcats backed Farris with an 11-hit attack. Catcher Jordan Berger had two hits and drove in two runs, giving him eight RBIs through six games. Left fielder Zach Gibbons had two hits and scored a run, and center fielder Scott Kingery had two hits and an RBI.

The teams play a pair of games today at Hi Corbett.
