A day after scratching out a one-run win to reach the championship game of the Little League Intermediate World Series, Nogales didn't leave any questions on its way to winning the crown.

Nogales scored five runs in both the third and fourth innings today to beat Puerto Rico 11-4 and win just the second championship of the 50/70 intermediate division. The game was televised nationally on ESPN2.

Shortstop Dustin Bermudez, who earned the save in Sunday's 6-5 win over Maryland, hit a go-ahead three-run home run in the bottom of the third inning and Nogales never trailed again.

Right-handed pitcher German Fajardo pitched all seven innings for the win, giving up nine hits and three earned runs.
