• Highlights: The Padres (2-6) scored three times in the fourth inning with the help of a two-run double by starting pitcher Sean O'Sullivan to make it a 5-4 game. One inning later and the score the same, Tucson had a chance to tie it when Rene Rivera singled to left with Jonathan Galvez on second, but Galvez was thrown out at home.

• Big number: 4. Fresno (5-4) scored four runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed. The Grizzlies registered five hits in the inning, and Roger Kieschnick capped the scoring with a two-run home run to right field.
