Leadoff hitter Dean Anna smashed his fifth homer of the season to start the game and James Darnell drove in three runs as the Tucson Padres beat host Salt Lake 6-1 on Monday night.

Tucson's Tim Stauffer (2-2) pitched six innings to pick up the win. He struck out eight and gave up one run on seven hits.

Relievers Daniel Stange and Brandon Kloess combined to give up one hit for the Padres (14-17), who return home tonight at 7:05 to face Albuquerque at Kino Stadium.

Jonathan Galvez's RBI single put Tucson up 2-0 in the fourth, and the Padres added one run in the sixth on Darnell's RBI triple. Darnell added a two-run single in the seventh as the Padres scored three.

The DH Darnell, who went 3 for 4, also doubled in the game.
