Roberto Lopez's eighth-inning single led to a Sawyer Carroll throwing error and an eventual 5-3 Salt Lake win over the Tucson Padres on Saturday night.

Tucson led 1-0 in the second inning and 3-0 in the third before Salt Lake rallied. The Bees chased Tucson starter Robbie Erlin with a three-run third inning. Erlin, one of San Diego's top pitching prospects, surrendered six hits and three runs in 3 1/3 innings. He walked three.

The game was tied at 3 in the bottom of the eighth when Luis Rodriguez singled off Tucson's Nick Vincent. Vincent then walked John Hester before surrendering a Lopez single to right field. Rodriguez scored on the hit; Carroll's throwing error on the play allowed Lopez to follow him home. The Padres (0-3) will try to salvage one win at Spring Mobile Ballpark today.
