John Hester scored from third on a wild pitch with one out in the eighth inning Friday night, and the host Salt Lake Bees beat the Tucson Padres 2-1.

With one out, Hester and Tommy Field singled to put runners at the corners. Tucson's Tommy Layne relieved Fautino De Los Santos and threw the wild pitch to the first batter he faced.

The Padres scored in the top of the first inning. Jonathan Galvez walked with two outs, and Kyle Blanks drove him in from first with a double to center.

The Bees tied the game in the fifth on a walk, a sacrifice bunt and a Hester double.

Tucson starting pitcher Sean O'Sullivan allowed only two hits and one run over five innings. He struck out five and walked two.

Billy Buckner, Salt Lake's starter, had a nearly identical line: five innings, three hits, one run, five strikeouts and two walks.
