The Tucson Padres picked up their first win of the season, beating host Salt Lake 9-1 on Sunday.

Travis Buck went 3 for 5 with a homer and four RBIs for Tucson (1-3), which had dropped the first three games of the series.

Kyle Blanks' solo homer put Tucson up 2-1 in the fourth inning, and Buck's two-run shot an inning later increased the lead to 4-1.

The Padres broke the game open with three more runs in the seventh. Buck singled in Daniel Robertson to make it 5-1.

Robertson went 3 for 4 and scored a pair of runs. Dean Anna scored twice and had two hits for Tucson.

Thad Weber (1-0) picked up the win, allowing one run on five hits in five innings. He struck out five.

Three Tucson relievers combined to allow just two hits in four innings. Brad Boxberger followed Weber and struck out four in two innings.

The Padres play at Colorado Springs at 5:35 p.m. today for the start of a four-game set.

The game can be heard on 1290-AM.

Keyvius Sampson will start for Tucson, while Aaron Cook takes the mound for the Sky Sox.

Tucson's first home game is at 7:05 p.m. Friday against Fresno at Kino Stadium.
