Ben Paulsen hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning to lead host Colorado Springs past the Tucson Padres 4-2 on Friday night.

The Padres took a 2-1 lead in the fifth on a sacrifice fly from Chris Robinson, but the Sky Sox tied it up on a sac fly by Charlie Blackmon in the bottom of the inning.

Before the game, San Diego called up righty Burch Smith and optioned lefty Tommy Layne to Tucson.
