Aided by the return of catcher Yasmani Grandal, the Tucson Padres scored three runs in the first inning to beat the host Iowa Cubs 4-2 Saturday night.

Grandal, who began a 10-day rehab assignment with Tucson after a 50-game suspension, was 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI. He played with Tucson last season before being moved up to San Diego at midseason.

Grandal is eligible to rejoin the San Diego Padres on May 28. He was suspended in November after he tested positive for a banned substance.

Tucson pitcher Sean O'Sullivan (3-2) scattered six hits over seven innings. He struck out four and walked one.
