The top of the lineup came through for the Tucson Padres on Friday night.

Leadoff hitter Dean Anna went 4 for 5, igniting a two-run decisive eighth inning with a single as Tucson held off Iowa 9-8 in Des Moines.

No. 2 Padres hitter Dan Robertson went 3 for 5 with an RBI double, and No. 3 hitter Gregorio Petit was 2 for 5 with three RBIs.

With the Padres (22-19) ahead 7-6, Anna led off the eighth with a single and Robertson singled. Petit's single to left scored Anna, and Robertson later scored on Rene Rivera's sacrifice fly.

Iowa scored twice in the ninth to make it interesting, but Tucson's Miles Mikolas got the Cubs' Logan Watkins to ground out to second for the third out. The Padres reliever earned his sixth save despite giving up two runs.

Four other Tucson relievers allowed only four hits and no runs after starter Robbie Erlin gave up six runs (four earned) on 12 hits in 4 2/3 innings. Nick Vincent (3-3), who got the third out in the fifth for Erlin, got the win.

Tucson jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first, highlighted by an RBI double by Robertson and a two-run single by Jesus Merchan.

Iowa took a 5-4 lead in the fourth and stretched it to 6-4 in the fifth before Tucson scored three in the sixth to retake the lead. Anna singled in Justin Miller, who had doubled, and Anna scored on a fielder's choice by Petit. Robertson, who singled, then scored on an RBI single by Brandon Allen to make it 7-6.
