Tucson scored twice in the ninth inning, but the Padres failed to tie it up with runners at second and third in a 5-4 loss at Sacramento on Sunday night.

The Padres (66-63) fell six games behind leader Sacramento (72-57) in the Pacific Coast League South. Tucson faces the River Cats two more times, but only 15 games remain in the regular season.

In the ninth, Tucson cut the lead to 5-3 on Dan Robertson's RBI single, then got another run on Dean Anna's fielder's choice. With Reymond Fuentes on third and Robertson at second, Jonathan Galvez grounded out to short to end the game.

Tucson's Brandon Allen homered in the second to make it 1-0. But Sacramento got three in the third - led by Shane Peterson's two-run double - scored on a bases-loaded walk in the fourth and made it 5-1 in the fifth on Anthony Aliotti's RBI single.
