Tacoma's Rich Poythress hit his second homer of the game in the 10th inning to give the Rainiers a 6-5 victory Thursday night over the visiting Tucson Padres.

Poythress led Tacoma's offense with a 3-for-4 performance. He scored three runs and drove home three more.

The victory gave the Rainier a 3-1 series win. Tucson returns home to begin a four-game homestand tonight against Salt Lake City.

Tacoma tied the game in the eighth inning when Poythress scored on Jason Jaramillo's double to left field.

Tucson took a 5-4 edge with a four-run outburst with two out in the fourth inning on five singles and a walk. Chris Robinson provided the big blow of the inning with a bases-loaded single to left that scored Ben Francisco and Gregorio Petit.

The Rainiers scored twice in the third inning to take a 3-1 lead. Poythress homered with two out after Stefen Romero had walked.

In the third inning, Tucson tied the game at 1-1 when Mike Wilson led off the inning with a solo homer, his fifth of the season.

Tacoma struck first in the game when Romero singled, scoring Ty Kelly, who had singled and gone to second on Frank Gutierrez's double.
