• Highlight: In the top of the 12th inning, after three hours 52 minutes had been played, the River Cats hit back-to-back-to-back home runs with two outs off Tucson relief pitcher Brad Brach to put the game away. Michael Choice hit the go-ahead homer, and then Scott Moore and Jeremy Barfield followed suit for Sacramento. Brach finally got out of the inning when Daric Barton grounded out.

• Big Number: 11. Pitchers that came to the mound in the game. Starters Travis Banwart and Brandon Kloess both lasted 5 2/3 innings, but both teams were forced to go to the bullpen when the game extended into extra innings. Tucson pitched five more guys and gave up three more runs after Kloess exited, while Sacramento had five more and held the Padres scoreless once Banwart left the game.

• Tonight's starters: RHP Jorge Reyes (3-0, 2.86 ERA), Tucson, vs. RHP Sonny Gray (4-2, 2.49 ERA), Sacramento.
